Summary of Changes to our Terms and Privacy Policy (25 June 2026)

Important Update: Changes to Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Business Terms & Conditions.

We want to keep you informed about some updates we are making to our current Business Terms & Conditions, Terms of Use and Privacy Policy.

The updated Terms of Use, Privacy Policy and Business Terms & Conditions will take effect on Thursday, 25 June 2026, and continued use of our application after this date will be considered acceptance of these changes.

We strongly encourage you to read the new Terms and Conditions in their entirety, which can be found in the Terms of Use, Privacy Policy, and Business Terms & Conditions.

For your convenience, below is a summary of what has been updated, in addition to formatting and numbering changes for easier readability.

Terms of Use

Section 2 – Use of ManageMyHealth and Your Obligations
Users must comply with the ManageMyHealth Privacy Policy when using ManageMyHealth.

Section 3 – Account Closure
A new Account Closure section explains how accounts can be closed, what happens if a healthcare provider stops using ManageMyHealth, how inactive accounts are handled, when account closure takes effect, and what happens to linked accounts.

Privacy Policy

Section 1.3 and 1.4 – Personal Information and Health Information
Personal Information is defined with reference to the Privacy Act 2020, and Health Information is defined with reference to the Health Information Privacy Code 2020, so it is clear what types of information are covered under the Privacy Policy.

Section 2.7 and 2.8 – Information from Healthcare Providers
Where personal or health information is provided by a healthcare provider, MMH receives and uses that information to operate and deliver its services. Healthcare providers remain responsible for collecting and providing that information in accordance with Privacy Law.

Section 3 – Closure of Account
A new Closure of Account section explains what happens when a healthcare provider stops using ManageMyHealth, how users can close their account, how inactive accounts are handled, and what information may be deleted or retained after account closure.

Section 4.3 – Service Communications
MMH may communicate directly with users about their account, information security, service changes, or matters required by law.

Business Terms & Conditions

Section 2.15 – Patient Data
Patient Data received or entered through the MMH Patient Portal is governed by the patient Terms of Use.

Section 2.17 – Privacy Law
Privacy Law now specifically refers to the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020 and the Health Information Privacy Code 2020, including any amendments, regulations, codes of practice, or binding guidance.

Section 8.5(b) – Fee Change Notice
The notice period for applicable annual CPI-related fee changes is now 30 days.

Section 13.1 – Liability
MMH is not liable for losses or privacy breaches caused by third-party criminal or unauthorised activity, unless caused by MMH’s gross negligence or willful misconduct.

Section 14.7 – Practice Data After Termination
After termination or expiry of services, the Customer or Practice may request a copy of Practice Data within one month. If no request is received within one month, Practice Data will be deleted within 30 days, subject to retention obligations under Privacy Law or for dispute resolution purposes. Practice Data may remain in secure backups for a limited period and will be deleted in accordance with MMH’s standard retention processes.

Section 14.8 – Patient Data After Termination
Patient Data held by MMH will be deleted in accordance with the Privacy Policy and the applicable Terms of Use.
