MMH Leadership Attends ‘Digital as Core Infrastructure’ at DHA TUANZ Summit

Last week, our General Manager – Innovation, Asfahaan Mirza, and National Partnerships Manager, Shay Franklin, represented Manage My Health at the DHA TUANZ Tech Users Summit. This landmark event brings together digital decision-makers, policy influencers, and technology users from across Aotearoa to engage with the most pressing topics in our industry.

“It’s always nice to be reminded that health is important and that digital is the way forward for us all”

This year’s theme, “Digital as Core Infrastructure,” championed the pivotal idea that digital systems—from connectivity to digital health platforms—are as critical to New Zealand’s future as physical infrastructure. The summit provided a vital forum for exploring how robust digital infrastructure can lead to greater resilience, equity, and better outcomes for all New Zealanders.

Against this backdrop, the event was filled with insightful discussions and forward-thinking conversations. It was a fantastic opportunity to gather with health-tech focused people and collaborate on the big issues facing the sector.

Asfahaan found the event’s focus timely and essential. “Good to remember that health is important and that digital is the way forward for us all,” he commented. He also noted it was, “Great to meet Stella Ward the new CEO of DHA in person.”

Shay Franklin echoed these positive sentiments, praising the “Reputable, insightful speakers.” For him, it was a “great chance to network with people who also believe in the power of digital,” especially in achieving key goals like “interoperability and better patient outcomes.”

As Asfahaan later shared on LinkedIn, the summit was a valuable chance to “connect, learn, and share ideas with such a forward-thinking community.” We’re excited to carry the momentum from these conversations forward in our mission to empower New Zealanders through digital health.
